Finding better targets for the treatment of atherothrombosis

In the current search to find new, better, targets for the future management of thrombosis, emphasis should be put on two platelet thrombin receptors: protease activated receptor (PAR)1 and PAR4. It is important to clarify differences between these receptors in order to enhance their potential future as therapeutic targets.
