Introducution

How natural forest develops without human impact strongly influences forest conservation policies across Europe, as most conservation decisions such as the management of conservation areas, the protection and development of natural reserves, the practices of nature-friendly land use, and nature restoration, can not be sensibly done without such a standard (Jens-Christian, 2002).
