The results showed that the ornament had lost the honesty in displaying reproductive quality. In a study by Wright et al. in 2008 using F2 AIL , the ornament remained honest.  In the F8 through more genetical recombination there is a negative correlation between comb size and egg size.These results indicates that that the phenotypical attributes suggests a QTL linkage for comb size and egg size but that the linakge has been broken in this 8th generation AIL.
