Domestication has altered the behaviour of animals to live side by side with humans. When comparing the wild conspecifics to the domesticated individuals, it stands clear that there are a lot of differences between them. One example of this is the wolf and the dog.

However, we do not know much about what happended on the course of domestication. What happended along the way when wolves became dogs or the wild red junglefowl ended up as a multi-egg producing white leghorn chicken.

In my thesis work I have tried to find out how domestication has altered one social behaviour, namely the dominance behaviour, with the wild ancestor to all modern chicken breeds; the red junglefowl as a model.
