The cortisol levels had a larger dispersal during Observation 1 than during Observation 2.

 The bitches with high cortisol level during observation 1 were the ones vocalising the least. 

High decrease in Restless correlates with low number of observation for Suckling during Day 1. High decrease in Lying correlates with high number of observation for Suckling during Day 1. 

A longer duration of Lying during Observation 1 correlates with a higher C-BARQ score.

Early experience can affect the cortisol level, however experience of being at the breeding kennel before does not seems to affect the cortisol level. We could not find any correlation between bitches which had been at the breeding kennel before and bitches which were there for the first time. Another possibility is that some of the bitches did not perceive the transfer and social isolation as stressful. 

Lying may be a sign of stressed dogs. Stressed dogs go into themselves and shut out their surroundings, similar to apathetic. Some studies have seen that these apathetic behaviours are a sign of stressed dogs. The results from vocalisation support this theory, where stressed dogs vocalised the least. The results from C-BARQ showed that bitches which showed signs of anxiety when left alone at home, are close to the owner and have strong reaction to exciting events such as car trips or visitors, had the longest lying duration for observation 1. The results also showed that Lying had a negative effect on suckling while Restless had a positive effect.
