By March 2015, 22 institutions have replied to the questionnaire. Non-responding institutions have been ignoring three reminders. Most replies were detailed and gave a lot of information about exhibits, and husbandry routines. This information will be used in the compiling of a Best Practice Manual for the species (not part of this thesis). 

The results showed that 14 out of these 22 institutions keep their martens in pairs all year round. Most of the institutions indicated that their martens did not any express stereotypic behaviour to a large extent.
