Introduction

Visual acuity is the ability to see fine details and this ability differs between animals. In daylight humans have high visual acuity, while dogs have about three to four times poorer. However, dogs have eyes with more adaptation to dim light conditions, which raises the question if dogs have better visual acuity in dim light. As an example dogs have the Tapetum lucidum which is a reflector that gives the eye a second opportunity to absorb more light. 

In the present study I aimed to investigate wether dogs had better visual acuity in dim light conditions than humans.
