Sonar based enrichment and detection of hidden fish by bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus)

My name is Lovisa Larsson, and I studied Applied Ethology and Animal Biology for the same reasons as so many others; I love animals and will forever be facinated by them. This page which contain my thesis project will be filled by the facinating world of applied welfare, enrichment and bottlenosed dolphins.

The project was handed out at Kolmården Wildlife park in Sweden, from august 2017 to may 2018. During this period, my project contained most steps imagined when forming new enrichment. The project for me ment everything from choosing materials, challanging my imagination, knowledge, building skills, to trying out prototypes, using my creation for behavioural data collection, while asking myself how and why I believed that this type of enrichment would increase welfare for dolphins.
