Bumblebee learning flights at a flower: viewing direction on departure is influenced by landmark position on approach

Welcome, and thank you for visiting my research webpage!

My name is Michael Plante-Ajah, and I was an MSc student in the Applied Ethology and Animal Biology programme at Linköping University from 2017 to 2019.

For my degree research project, I investigated a particular bumblebee behaviour known as a learning flight, in order to shed some more light on how bumblebees -- and other Hymenopterans -- go about learning the visual features of a scene for navigation.

I invite you to explore my webpages to see what I did and what I found! And you will learn a thing or two about these amazing insects!

Click the button below to get started, or navigate with the lefthand menu. And before you leave, be sure to check out the Links & Downloads page for more resources about bumblebees!
