Results
- The dogs and wolves both performed a significantly higher number of interactions with the real blood than with the blood odour component, the fruity odour or the near-odourless control.
- Sniffing was the most frequently performed behaviour by both the wolves and dogs.
- Real blood was the most interesting stimulus to the wolves and domestic dogs, while the other carnivore species showed equal interest in the real blood and the blood odour component.
