Recurring perturbations limit the length of byproduct cross-feeding chains in digital communities
Welcome!
My name is Johanna Orsholm, and this website is dedicated to my master's degree project. I have studied the effects of perturbations on chains of interdependent byproduct cross-feeding interactions (where an organism consume a byproduct metabolite produced by another organism). To do this, I have used a system of digital evolution, which has enabled me to isolate the effects of perturbations from other well-known constraints of food chains, such as energy loss between trophic levels.
Navigate through the different parts of my project by using the menu on the left, or the links at the end of each page (starting with Background & Aim). Enjoy!
