The primary aim of this study was to determine if relocated dogs showed signs of impaired cognitive function compared with non-relocated dogs using a series of of simple cognitive tests. Relocated dogs were expected to perform more poorly in the cognitive tests than the control dogs and display more stress behaviours while performing the tests.
In addition, I wanted to determine how the dogs performance in the cognitive tests may be correlated with both the dog’s personality and the dog’s relationship with its owner by using owner-completed questionnaires.
