Zygaena filipendulae (Six-spot burnet)

Found in the south to mid Sweden. Red listed as NT (Near Threatened).

Larva

Yellow with black spots, weakly hairy. Emerge from hibernation in mid May-early June. Larvae feed mainly on Lotus spp.

Pupa

White to yellow, placed relatively high on stems of grasses and other plants.

Imago

Black ground colour, six red spots usually well separated. Flies mainly in July-mid August. Attracted to plants of Knautia, Scabiosa, Cirsium and Centaurea.
