Zygaena viciae (New forest burnet)
Found in the south to mid Sweden, but not present on the island of Gotland.
Red listed as NT (Near Threatened).

Larva
Green with yellow and black spots, weakly hairy. Emerge from hibernation in mid May-early June. Larvae feed mainly on Vicia spp., but also on Lotus corniculatus, Lathyrus pratensis and Trifolium spp.

Pupa
Pale yellow, placed low down and often hidden by vegetation.

Imago
Black ground colour, five red spots. Somewhat less shiny and smaller than Z. filipendulae and Z. lonicerae. Flies mainly in early July-early August. Attracted to plants of Knautia and Scabiosa, Centaurea and Cirsium arvense, but also to Valeriana officinalis and Inula salicina.
