The effects of prenatal hypoxia on the levels of the α-subunits of G proteins in the heart of the Broiler chicken (Gallus gallus)

Masters Thesis - Molecular Genetics and Physiology 2010

Supervisors: Isa Lindgren & Jordi Altimiras.

My project investigated some of the effects chronic prenatal hypoxia has on the chicken heart. The project focused on the changes in the levels of Gα proteins (an integral part of the β-adrenergic signaling cascade) during development in a hypoxic environment, and later in life. This project was carried out in the cardiovascular development lab (CADE) now part of the Avian Behavioral Genomics and Physiology group, at IFM Biology, Linköping University.
