Serum Anti-Nuclear Antibodies results

Table1. Serum Antinucleolar antibodies (ANoA) of total IgG and its subclasses in Hg treated female B10.S recipient mice. Sera taken from 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 and 15th weeks of treatment. Calculations in percentage.

Serum sample analysis of treated and untreated B10.S IFN γ-/- mice (donor) showed no ANoA as expected (fig2). Interferon knockout mice never produce ANoA and thus do not show any response to mercury treatment.

Recipient mice injected Treg cells from the treated donor mice, only 40% developed ANoA (Fig2.). ANoA level dropped and only 20% mice showed the response from 7th week. Treated recipient mice injected with CD4+CD25- cells, all the mice developed ANoA. Then it gradually diminishes with time. When, groups C and D (donor treated with water) were compared with groups G and H (Donor treated with Hg), the ANoA level decreased in groups G and H (Table.1).

Fig 2 Serum anti-nucleolar antibodies (ANoA) from donor mice and recipient mice were assessed by indirect immunofluorescence using Hep-2 slides. ANoA is visible as clumpy staining of the nucleoli which was shown by arrows. Only mercury treated recipient mice developed ANoA.
