The cytotoxicity of anti-viral compounds (B-220 and its derivatives) from 1 through 7 and 12 through14 was evaluated by MTS assay using human Stromal cells of Corneal Limbus ( hSCLs ). Compounds 1 and 4 showed significant  level of toxicity at 12.5µM and 50µM respectively by one way analysis of variance followed by Dunnet’s test(Graph above).  Compound 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 12, 13 and 14 did not show any significant toxicity. The well established antiviral drug acyclovir was used as a reference drug and did not show any significant toxicity.
