The Findings
A short summery of the results of the research questions
1. The broad opinion is that it’s hard to integrate the Environmental Objectives in the DDP process. In order to achieve good quality in the DDP process, the Environmental Objectives are not a deciding factor. The Environmental Objectives take up a lot of time and focus, which could be spent on more important parts of both the EIA- and DDP process. The main factor to why the interviewees don’t think the Environmental Objectives are a deciding factor for good quality, is the fact that the Environmental Objectives don’t promote the process or the project.
2. The people working with EIA’s need to have a broad knowledge and good qualifications. The general impression is that the problem with the DDP process is the actual process. It is of great importance for achieving a successful DDP process to have a good process leader, that can bring together the DDP and EIA processes.
3. The interviewees feel that CAB have a negative effect on the quality, due to the prolonged process of producing a statement. Common opinions among the interviewees are that the CAB could be tougher in their review, as well as having a more consistent level in their statements.
