The ear muscles that were used to measure ear positions were selected from anatomical drawings. Four ear muscles important for ear expressions were chosen, where reflective markers were attached. The ear movement or the markers coordinates were recorded by infrared cameras (Oqus).

The differences in ear movement between the left and the right ear towards stimuli and phases were analysed using GENMOD procedure in SAS.
