Study species: Turdus chiguanco

Urbanization causes the reduction and fragmentation of native flora and fauna comunities. Only some bird species are able to adapt. Understanding why is crucial to get a better understanding of urban ecosystems and for the future conservation of birds. Boldness, neophobia and problem slving abilities are considered to be indicators of the capacity of a bird to adapt to the city. Hence, my objectives were:

1)To increase the knowledge in the causes that allow some species to adapt to the urban environment

2)To evaluate if the city of La Paz acts as a selective driving force boldness, neophobia and problem solving abilities comparing urban and rural populations of Chiguanco Trush
