"Dinner-bell"effect and audibility of different pinger sounds in grey seals (Helichoerus grypus)
Andrea Cabrera
Welcome to my page!
I am Andrea, I hold a BSc. in Marine Biology and Zoology which I obtained at James Cook University in Australia in 2015. I have always been passionate about animals, particularly marine mammals and fish. I am also deeply interested in animal behaviour, thus, I started this masters program at Linköping University in Applied Ethology and Animal Biology in 2016.
In my thesis project I focused on testing the "dinner-bell" effect of pingers on wild grey seals in the Baltic Sea. I also tested the audibility of these pinger sounds in captive grey seals held at the University of Southern Denmark's Marine Research Center in Kerteminde, Denmark.
On this website you will find a brief overview of my one-year-long master thesis. For further information or if you have any questions, do not hesitate in contacting me on andreacabreragarcia@outlook.com
I hope you enjoy reading about grey seals as much as I enjoyed working with them!
