Study animals
This study was carried out on nine ring-tailed lemurs and two red ruffed lemurs housed in a mixed exhibit at Furuvik Zoo, Sweden.
Enclosure
The lemurs’ enclosure at Furuvik Zoo comprises an outdoor area of 5,000 m2, within which two indoor enclosures are located: the ring-tailed lemurs’ house (200 m3) and the red ruffed lemurs’ house (500 m3).
The enclosure’s outdoor area is covered in vegetation, including trees, bushes, shrubs, and grass.
