Enrichment effect on lemurs’ use of levels
Ring-tailed lemurs:
No enrichment: They used the ground the most, while the second-most used level was level 1.
Enrichment: They slightly decreased their use of the ground and slightly increased their use of level 1, although the results were not statistically significant.
Red ruffed lemurs:
No enrichment: They used level 1 the most.
Enrichment: With both kinds of enrichment, they increased their use of the ground. However, the results were not statistically significant.
Structural enrichment: They also decreased their use of level 1 and increased their use of levels 2 and 3. However, the results were not statistically significant.
Visitor effect on lemurs’ use of levels
Ring-tailed lemurs:
They used the ground less and level 1 more when visitors were present, although the results were not statistically significant.
Red ruffed lemurs:
They used levels 2 and 3 less and level 1 more when visitors were present.

Weather effect on lemurs’ use of levels
Ring-tailed lemurs:
They used the ground the most when it was sunny.
They used levels 1 and 2 the most when it was rainy.
Red ruffed lemurs:
They used level 1 the most when it was sunny.
They used levels 2 and 3 the most when it was rainy.

Temperature effect on lemurs’ use of levels
Ring-tailed lemurs:
They used the ground the most when it was cold.
They used level 1 the most when it was too warm.
Red ruffed lemurs:
They used levels 2 and 3 the most when it was cold.
They used level 1 the most when it was warm.
* p < 0.05 / ** p < 0.01 (χ2 test)
