About me
I have a Bachelor's degree in veterinary medicine from the Swedish University of Agricultural Science, but decided to pursue a career in animal behaviour instead as that interests me more.
My area of interest and expertise is equine behaviour and training. I currently work as a horse behaviour consultant and trainer, teaching people how to train their horses in accordance with scientific principles. I also take in horses with behavioural issues for rehabilitation, specialising in complex fear and aggression cases. My background in veterinary medicine is of great value to me in this, as a lot of generalized fear and/or aggression comes from physical issues.
One of my professional dreams is to open a positive reinforcement-based riding school where both children and adults can learn how to interact with horses in an ethical, force-free way.
The effect of positive reinforcement training on horses’ (Equus caballus) optimism, stress levels and the horse-human relationship
For my Master's thesis I investigated whether there are any measurable effects of adding regular positive reinforcement training to a horse's normal training program. For details about the background, method and results, please see the menu on the left.
