Main findings

The main finding of my study was that the animals managed to obtain the lowest detection threshold value ever reported for mice. By comparing molecular structure I can say that the lack of a methyl group next to the aldehyde group and the presence of a tertiary butyl group make bourgeonal easier to detect. A possibility is that the molecular structure allows it to bind to several types of receptors. Also I found no clear correlation between numbers of receptors and sensitivity. More details are found in my thesis that is available for download.
