Conclusion

Myotis bechsteini (http://www.fotopedia.com/users/gillessanmartin)
  • Bat species richness responds to landscape characteristics up to a scale of 2km, where the habitat variables that they responded the strongest towards were Water surface and Open landscape. However, they responded the strongest to the local scale of 939m, where Settlements, Open landscape and Water surface was the habitat variables that best could explain the bat species richness
  • Each bat has more or less individual response towards different habitat variables and when planning a bat conservation management, it is crucial to take every aspect of the bats habitat response into account, the species specific and the species richness response.
