Location of the observation sites
The bat study took place in the county of Östergötland, Sweden. A total of 156 sites were surveyed between the years 1994 to 2012. The criteria for selecting these sites was that there should be older buildings present, have a connection to water, deciduous forest, old-growth trees and park-like settings
