Protective zone study

The changes in lichen abundance from the forest edge into the interior were small for all lichen species, forests, and transect types. The lichen abundance increased with 0.2 units/meter for transects bordering clear-cuts and 0.02 units/meter for transects bordering protective zones. Most lichen species in transects bordering a protective zone showed decreases in abundance from the forest edge into the core, while most lichen species in transects bordering a clear-cut showed increases in abundance from the forest edge into the core
