Spatial distribution of Menegazzia terebrata

The spatial distribution of M. terebrata was significantly clustered in all three forests. In the three swamp forests, alders hosting M. terebrata were on average located 5.3, 5.1 and 2.8 meters further into the swamp forest, respectively, than trees without M. terebrata. The difference in average distance between the third forest and the first two can be attributed to a lack of disturbance from forestry, making the exterior of the swamp forests more hospitable than at disturbed forests

Lichen host alders (white) were on average located further into the swamp forests than non-host alders (black)
