About me

My name is Luunga. I am (was) an international student from Zambia with a background in wildlife biology and management. I attained my bachelors of science from the Copperbelt University in Zambia where I studied for 4 years. I have always been fascinated with biology, and when I was introduced to ecology ealier in my studies, I realized working outdoors in nature really excited me. And because of this, choosing a research project for me meant one I would be required to go out in the field to collect data, and most likely put in some lab work.

I chose to study semi-grasslands because they are species-rich and one of the most threatened habitats that require major attention. Besides, the thesis work was a perfect way to really get to know the Carabidae family which I think is an amazing invertebrate group. I was nervous to see what I could find on an already well studied subject, but best believe, I learnt a lot and of cource I had so much fun.

Never give up on protecting nature and the environment. It is our mandate to ensure we live in a healthy world alongside all species, and everybody must be active at whatever level possible to contribute to this good cause... after all, the Earth is what we all have in common.

I hope you too enjoy reading my research.

Cheers!
