There were two main aims of this study:

• To categorise the sounds based on the context in which they were performed, in an attempt to find their biological function
• To compare the occurrences of the vocalisations of the lions in Zimbabwe and in Sweden among different contexts and to try to correlate the differences to living conditions and upbringing
