I found no significant differences in hair cortisol concentrations between the treatment and control horses before (p=0.11, U=110) or after (p=0.45, U=137) the treatment period [Figure 1].
However, both groups had significantly higher hair cortisol concentrations after the treatment period compared to before (treatment: p=0.01, Z=-2.68; control: p<0.01, Z=-2.94).
